Tata Steel produces energy rich coke oven gas in huge amounts to be used for heating and power production. However it could also be used for hydrogen production, much cleaner than conventional ways to produce hydrogen from natural gas. We need help to develop the method and business model for this sequestration. Next to that you have to evaluate your options in environmental terms (CO2, NOx and particulates) to asses the sustainability of this way of fuelling transportation.
Your task is to elaborate a process and business model for sequestration of hydrogen from coke oven gas in order to make it useable for fuel cells. Also you have to develop the feeding of this system from the existing gas systems.
You are a MSc student in the field of Process Technology, Energy Science, Sustainable Energy Technology, or a comparable field. You have a special interest in energy efficiency and sustainable innovation.
Personal skills: you have good communication skills, strong organizational skills and an ability to work independently as well as in team situation.
The Energy Efficiency program conducts systematic analysis of energy consumption at the site in order to identify and implement improvements with regard tot energy efficiency performance and CO2 emission reduction. The EE-team running the program also supports the implementation of energy efficiency measures, which can be about technical aspects, energy management and on mindset and behaviours towards energy consumption.
