Information about the department
The activities of the Securities department take place mainly in the Dealing Room. The specialists who work here deal with Writing, Marketing, Sales Trading and Trading, among other things. In addition, Securities has an Event Team which organises Road Shows, seminars and other events in order to bring together investors and the management teams of listed companies.
Securities specialises in four sectors: Property, Benelux, Life Sciences and Cleantech. Every day, institutional investors are on the lookout for liquidity in a variety of listed companies. Among other tasks, as a Junior Sales Trader you will help these institutional clients by seeking a counterparty in order to minimise the market impact of the share order. Throughout the day you will have contact with Securities Traders. These Traders have access to the various European trading platforms. On the one hand they execute share orders on different trading platforms, and on the other hand they provide the institutional clients of Securities with liquidity. Order execution is central to the Junior Sales Trader's activities.
As a Junior Sales Trader you will keep abreast of events in the financial markets. In addition, analysts will update you daily on developments affecting the diverse listed companies that are covered. This information and your vision together are fundamental to the quality of the service you provide to institutional clients.
Entrepreneurial spirit, client focus, commercial skills, a winner mentality and drive are key competencies. You also need to have an excellent command of English. Finally, you should have outstanding communication skills, which are essential for the frequent telephone contact with institutional clients.
